Atlantis Industrial market awakes!
Industrial urban creep and an extremely buoyant industrial property market with continued government investment in industry and infrastructure has awoken a sleeping giant, so says major investor Mr. R Kahn, referring to Atlantis Industria. Bad traffic congestion, soaring industrial property prices and a lack of land availability in other industrial areas convinced me to invest in Atlantis, says Kahn about his choice to open S.A. Tyre Recyclers’ main plant in the former Novel Spinners & Dyers building, which he purchased late last year. Kahn also mentioned that almost no zoning restrictions on the type of industry and how heavy the operation might be, made Atlantis a prime spot for industrial heavy industrial business, not welcome in other light industrial areas. Big names like Tedlex, Elvinco Plastics and Weetbix have large plants in Atlantis, with many other well known players in the industrial sector finding refuge in this very accessible and naturally pristine industrial node, only 20 minutes from Cape Town city centre on the N7 north. On the same site as SA Tyre Recyclers is Odyssey Industrial Park – Atlantis, which is housed within the same extensive factory building as the Tyre Recycling Plant, boasting almost 3 hectares under one roof together. Odyssey Industrial Park is now re-selling industrial sectional title units within this building starting at sizes of 500m2 up to 3000m2, with a larger space available at special request. With ever soaring building costs and selling prices in other industrial areas, Odyssey Industrial Park is set to sell quickly with selling prices starting from as low as R1800/m2.
