Equestrian Paradise of Winners in Wine Valley

This well-known property boasts the birthplace of some of the finest thorough-breds to grace the South African racetracks. High Season Stud was started 7 years ago with a handful of mares. The stallion Casey Tibbs (Sadlers Wells- Fleur Royale)was purchased in 2000 and took up residency on the farm. The farm has produced many winners over the years ,last season finishing 7th on the National log with 103 winners (only 3 studs in the country achieved this in the season). Casey Tibbs was leading freshman sire that year. This season the farm has produced 75 winners so far and is lying 7th on the National log. These statistics over the past few years prove that the area is well suited to horse breeding. The estate boasts two fantastic homesteads, a 3rd managers cottage, 3 Stallion stables and camps, labourers cottages, stabling for a further 30 horses. The possibilities for future development abound in the ever-growing Eco-tourism industry or create a boutique wine estate. The land consists of 13 hectares of paddocks and 16 ha of pristine Fynbos with ample water for development. 10 minutes from the centre of Hermanus. The mediterranian climate allows the horses to grow out well and in the summer months the farm is cooled with sea breezes. Horses do well where good wine is produced and this valley is no exception as there are top wine estates nearby as well as three country restuarants. It is 12 km from the farm to the centre of Hermanus with a tar road to the front gates. The size of the land and stabling facilities is ideal for 12 mares and their progeny. Three of the stables are larger and suitable for foaling down. There are also 3 stallion boxes with adjoining paddocks. On the mountain, the land joins the well known Fernkloof Nature Reserve. Current Farm Management services are availalble.
